Welcome to the Yes Lab_
We’re a bunch of intrapreneurs who build & partner with start-ups to create products of the future for Optus.
We explore customer problems and find new ways of solving them through pushing the boundaries of technology & innovation.
Come on in_
Ultimately we build products: From small experiments, to prototypes, to fully developed products. As you can imagine, not everything works out the way it was intended but that's the innovation game, so we are proud of our failures too. And some things are so exciting we want to keep them a secret that little bit longer.
Below are a few projects in the pipeline which are in various phases of build, traction, scale or shut down. The process is iterative so we are always refining, pivoting but most of all learning.
At Yes Lab we work in a super fast paced design cycle. We take ideas from small thought bubbles to working prototypes as fast as we can in order to gain real feedback from consumers. Adopting design thinking practices and agile principles, each idea is validated before MVP's are built and tested. Those which gain traction will ultimately get scaled and those that don't are celebrated as great learning experiences and put in our graveyard.
Our ideas are always deep-routed in real customer truths. We make hypothesis, before validating through research, focus groups or just talking to some people out in the real world
We brainstorm, write on sticky notes, build prototypes, challenge each others thinking, and hopefully solve our problem multiple ways. When we think we have the answer, we ramp up quickly, build an MVP and get it into testing
We usually test our products with a small, select group of people (part of which is a dedicated beta_ test group) who provide us feedback allowing us to iterate along the journey
If our test phase is successful we then look to how we can scale them to the next phase whilst keeping true to our continuous development and build, measure, learn philosophy. Then we all have a beer and move onto the next one
