In our increasingly-connected world, we wanted to know how we could further leverage the Optus network to keep Australian households running smoothly. This led us to conduct research around household chores and rewards.
Working with 200 Australian families, we trialled a chores app and followed up with research. What we found that 48% of parents did not offer financial compensation for chores completed. Instead, they offered non-monetary rewards such as purchases, privileges and outings. The most popular reward across all age groups was screentime.
We're currently exploring this area further to see how Optus can help play a role in this space and help families automate their chores and rewards process.
