The days of young kids wandering the streets are probably gone forever and we think it's a real shame that today's children won't grow up with the freedom we were afforded when we were young. At the Yes Lab we wondered how technology could give back some of this freedom to children and peace-of-mind to their parents.
Sure, today's smartphones can solve some of this issue but our research quickly demonstrated that for younger children, between 5 and 10, a smartphone was not suitable. That led us to build SPOT. A tracking device and mobile app, that uses GPS, Wi-Fi and BLE sensors to inform parents where their child is at any-time. We are also testing some unique features that will set SPOT apart from other trackers on the market.
We currently have a working prototype and are learning quickly through our user testing.
